I originally posted this in the "Problems" forum, but I guess it's not really a problem, so here goes...

in the intake, there is (supposedly) some sort of screen filter that smoothes out incoming air and provides the MAF with a more accurate reading.

so here's my question... where can I get JUST the screen without purchasing an entire MAF unit? I went to a Ford dealer on the weekend, and they quoted me CDN$190 for the whole MAF, and said that's the only way to get the screen. I'm not THAT interested in getting the screen back.

The guy I bought the SVT from put in a KKM intake, and removed the screen (I assume) for higher air flow, but from what I've heard here, the increased turbulence in the intake can adversely affect performance.

Thanks in advance!

I saw BAT sells the screen. Their web address is http://www.batinc.net/contour.htm
You have to be patient to download their catalog.

I noticed they advertize the MAF gasket which "allows you to retain your stock diffuser", and they have a part number for the diffuser (screen), but no list of the screen itself. Anyone else?

It doesn't come with the MAF. It comes with the airbox. I bought a new MAF two years ago, and I certainly didn't get a new screen.

Where is this screen supposed to be located? I know it's not attached to the MAF because I just cleaned mine and there wasn't anything there. It wasn't attached to the air box either.

I bought an air filter box (since they have a tendency to break if you don't put the clips on right) and it didn't come with a screen.
