My brother has been studying Karate for about 5 years. He wants to start teaching so I helped him put a video together to help with recruiting.

Anyways?
Check out the Video and let me know what you think.

ok im not the one to critize stuff, but ill tell ya what i think, ill list it off cuz im really lazy right now

-it was sweet how he broke the boards
-nice music, timing could be a little better, but nice

BUT...heres what i didnt like if you are looking to show this to the public or people you are trying to recruit

-maybe have a little more karate whatnot in there, other than the board breaking
-home video camera/style i dont like
-him drinking something, smoking, and takin off his shirt might not be to good
-and at the end him swearing and talkin with the kid in the truck, and showin he broke something or injured himself isnt to reasuring if i wanted him to teach me

but gj and whatnot, just my 2 cents

The guys here have a point. There is more to being a martial arts instructor than just skill and talent. I've been in the martial arts for quite a few years and the mental training always seems to be overlooked. I'm not trying to knock him in any way. But I've taught TaeKwonDo. Your ability only takes you so far. The kind of person you are on and off the training floor is what people will pay attention to. I'll have way more respect for someone who lives right and isn't that good at their art than vice versa. JMO.

I agree...just looks like some angry dude breaking wood. The whole smoking/drinking thing doesn't really motivate me to want to learn karate. Seriously, it doesn't even look like he spent as many years as you said practicing, not to say that he didn't...but alot of peopel can break some wood in half...

I studied Kung Fu for awhile, although I am no longer doing it. That video had absolutely no point, I see a guy breaking boards, swearing, smoking and make funny faces... yeah all sign up. NOT.

If he is really serious he may want to re-think his approach and put some karate in the video and ditch the whole tuff guy smoking drinking bit. JMO
