WHY? Very unnessasary.Actually Ive never heard of a car with a hydralic e-brake,wouldnt be a e brake anymore. It would just fail with the other brakes then you would have no backup. Then again The tours have a PARKING brake and not a e-brake.

so they dont have to call it a P-brake laugh

and why? for rallying of course. almost every WRC car has a "parking brake" ( ) to whip the back end out on tight turns. they lock the back wheels up better than stock parking brakes. i think it would be fun to slide around dirt/gravel/snowy turns.

if your hydraulic brakes go out you still have the mechanical handbrake left, hence the term emergency brake. wouldnt parking brake or emergency brake be appropriate terms?

THIS CAR IS F***ING COOL!

bone stock for now...

ah no, most rally cars do not have a parking brake, in fact they mostly have a quick change (usually lever action) brake baising valve. It goes from about ~90% front brake torque to ~20% front brake torque. (have you tried pulling your E/P-brake hard enough to actually stop your car?) Oh wait, be careful, if you get it into a spin its not my fault

Standard all-seasons, and my brake won't stop mine either. It will acually only lock them up if I am at a full stop and try to drive. If I am moving, its just to slow me down.

speaking of the e-brake.........
Is there ANY way to set it up?? Mine no longer holds sufficiently on a hill and has a large amount of handle movement.....

I've heard they cannot be adjusted... but haven't looked for myself....

I know I need brake pads soon... maybe thats it..

Thanks
Jason

According to my Chilton's manual (chapter 9-25), the parking brake cable is self adjusting: "The parking brake cable is adjusted by operating the parking brake control handle several times." Which to me says that if your handle has too much movement and "operating the...handle several times" doesn't help, the cable has streched and you need to replace it. But I defer to the experts here....
