I was wondering what gauges to get for my SVT. I'm looking at the autometer white faced, ultra light gauges at summitracing.com Which parameter(s) would be most appropriate for our cars? Oil Pressure: 0-100, 0-150, or 0-200 psi Oil Temp: 100-250F or 140-300F I'll be getting an A/F gauge, too. Thanks!

Derek - Go with oil pressure 0-100, Oil Temp 100-250....Get a Mechanical Oil Pressure guage and an electric temp guage. As for the paint for the pod.....I don't know, but I am sure Marhyde makes something....Might want to find someone else who has done the research better then me for a perfect matching paint....What about Brad SQPlus?

chad, thanks man. those are the parameters I've decided on...(CEG was down, had to do research elsewhere!) I'll go search for paint now that the boards are up.

Yeup, I had a mech oil pressure, electric water and volts.
Just did SQPlus' and he used mech oil, volts and A/F. Came out beautifully.
I bought some paint from the local shop, just took in the stock A Pillar and matched it up as close as possible. Came out PERFECT. Brad didn't like the texture of his so he lightly sanded it and it came out very nice.

Yeah, I'll probably sand mine down, too. I see that autometer has an electric oil pres. gauge, too. There's a oil pressure sensor ?near the oil filter? and I was thinking I could tap into that using the electric gauge. Would that be easier than doing a mech gauge? If mech is better/easier, where did you tap into for the mech oil pressure gauge? Finally, where should I tap into for oil temp? Thanks.

There is actually an allen head plug that you can take out on the driver side of your engine block. You can plug a T-fitting in and put both your oil pressure and oil temp senders into this. If this doesn't work it's Icey Mikes fault. He told me

That plug is in the cylinder head and might as well be a million miles from the main oil gallery....the head is NOT a good place for an oil press sender...in or as close to the main oil gallery or main pressure feed is...

Hey Terry, where should I tap into for oil temp? Same place as pressure? Edit: just looking at summit...the phantom series has an electric oil temp gauge from 100-250F. the mechanical is from 140-280F. 140 is kinda high, isn't it? Will the electric gauge work?
