LOL! I hope I don't get as bad the the blue hairs I see on a day to day basis. I hope I can tell if I'm having problems driving when I get old. You might as well end my life when I can't drive but better end me driving then someone elses life! I totalled my parents Sable when I was 17 because some 80 year old didn't see me! I guess I shouldn't say I totalled it because it wasn't my fault. A few weeks ago I saw and old woman turn an a red then proceed to use the on coming lane as a turning lane. eek Yesterday I saw some old woman tap her brakes every 2 seconds. WTF! Drove me insane. shocked

That reminds me of a joke:

Just another slow day at the Shady Acres retirement home, it was tea time and one elderly man states, "my eyes are so bad I can't even see my cup of tea." His friend sitting next to him added, "I'm so weak nowadays, that I can't even lift my cup to my lips." Edna, their mutual friend chimes in, "I can't turn my neck anymore--everytime I do....*SNAP* ouch!" Bernard, over in the corner, ads, i take so many prescriptions that I tend to get confused and forget were I am and what I'm.........wah?" But finally, Helen, a fine, elderly black woman stands up from her rocker and raises her hands to the sky, rejoicing "Well thank the good Lord, we can all still drive!"

yeah, it's kinda stupid, but it fits laugh

A Longo Lexus employee estimated that he was going at least 85mph when he hit the curb and, in turn, part of a guard rail and in some freaky way got the GS430 airborne!
I can see the chance of accidentally hitting the wrong pedal, especially if you aren't familiar with the vehicle. But, how in the hell do you hit the wrong pedal for long enough to get the car going that fast?!? Reminds me of when Jeep had that big issue of 'sudden acceleration'. Turned out that people would hit the gas instead of the brakes and wonder why the vehicle wasn't stopping.

Total Brain Fart

85 mph, and i know those cars are quick, but he must have had the pedal mashed for at least a few seconds, even if he was going 55 when he hit the gas!

Talk about some slow reaction time.

God i wish i could take his call to the insurance company; "I'm sorry sir, we just don't have a provision in your policy for acts of ASSCLOWNISM" :p

Truth be told, this probably didn't hurt the lexus dealer too much. Most likely it made the news, unbelievable FREE advertising, and their insurance foots the repair bill.

Last summer I worked as a painter at a body shop for a Honda/Mazda/Lincoln/Merc dealership. When a new car would be damaged in transit, no matter how minor it was we would repair it, then the company (Honda, etc.) would pick it up and take it to a lot where it would sit until auctioned off for between 10-50% below retail.

One of the biggest stories was an S2000 that went crazy coming off the trailer and ripped up the whole passenger side. We fixed it to brand new, it went off, one of our bodymen did some inside research and bought the car off Honda for $20k. Not bad for a bright red 2001 S2000 with 8 miles on the odo laugh
