Hi, I just ordered some new mufflers for my svt, and it's the last mod I intend to do before putting a chip in. Can you guys tell me where I can find the code that you need to figure out which chip suits your car? Thanks, Vinny

Ok, I used the search feature and found the info I needed. My next question is, does anyone have code XGT1 If so, and you have a chip installed, what are your thoughts? Any info is appreciated. Thanks, Vinny

XGT1 takes to the Superchips code pretty well.
Good low & mid range boost, the upper rpm advance is too high IMO, redline is raised to 7300-7400rpm

Your PCM will have to have a jumper added by them or yourself in order for a chip to work.

thanks for your response demon; I've heard about this jumper, is it pretty easy to do yourself? If not, how much do you think a shop will charge to do it? Sending my comp. to superchips really isn't an option because I need my car every day for work.

There was a thread a week or two ago that had pics and everything about the XTG1 jumper. Don't have it bookmarked, but the "magic box" of search should have the answer for you. wink IIRC it was in the "Performance" forum.

Thanks alot guys, that doesn't seem too difficult. Just one question; say you use the solder like suggested to join those pieces together, the coating your talking about should be over that? Also, can the superchip be installed and removed whenever you want? I only ask that way when I bring my car to ford they won't know that I have a chip.

YOu really should wrap duct tape or something
that will keep the chip from shifting around....
It's possible a passenger might kick the chip when they stretch their legs....so yes, it's
possible to remove it but you should really try
to make it as secure as possible down there....

Vinny,

You can install the chip and drive all over with it.
You won't even know it is there until you punch it.

And don't worry about the dealer.
You only need to remove it before bringing it to the dealer so that he has access to the OEM Software.
They will never know you have a chip unless you scratch up the PCM real bad.

I actually spoke to my dealer about the DiabloSport chip since it improves ATX operation, and he told me to go ahead a try it.
The only thing it can hurt is the PCM.
I've been driving around on the chip for a few months with no problems yet.

thx pete, maybe I'll talk to my service advisor and see what he says. I remember when I bought the car, I asked the salesman about a chip, and he thought it was OK to put one in.
