i want to go. I see there is a lot about suspension. I was thinking about just getting some eibach springs and spend the rest on the go part. I want acceleration.I listed the Koni struts, and no springs, for a reason. Please don't put uprated springs on without uprating your struts.
What kind of "Go" are you talking about? Drag racing? In that case, you'd want to spend more on your drive train. Forced induction will take most of your budget, if not all, so I don't think it's a player here.
For straight-line stuff, I'd go with:
BAT suspension kit: My goal first was to maintain your ride comfort, while reducing lean in hard cornering, and tuning out some understeer. For straight-line, however, you'll need the stiffer springs and struts to reduce squat (weight transfer) on takeoff (maintain traction at the front).
DMD: For improved longevity of your engine, esp. at the high revs you are likely to generate.
Quaife LSD: Better hook-up and improved longevity. No idea on total, final, installed cost, here. $700? Am I close?
OK, that puts us at around $1400.
Hmmm. Custom exhaust from a local shop, say $400.
$200 left. K&N? B&M shifter?
We haven't even talked about clutches...
I'm not trying to be a smart-a$$ here, either. I started this exercise optimistically, but it seems that to optimize go, it's going to take more cash. Because, to say you have 2k to spend and think your going to use all of it just to make HP is unrealistic. More HP means you need to upgrade other components of the drivetrain so they don't break, and other components of the car's performance so you can actually get the HP to the road, which is the only place it really matters.
If 2k is a hard limit, I'd go with a balanced approach, starting with suspension and brakes, with modest upgrades to your engine. If it's just a starting point....I'd do the same.
