please post your pics of your ash tray area under the radio.  looking to see if i have found the right ash tray for my car. i don't know but something doesn't look right about it,oh and if you could leave your ash tray part number on your post that would be very helpful too. thanks in advance.

I would but my Contour does not have an ashtray in the dash ... Mine has the the little ashtray cup that sits in one of the drink holders that you can pick up and pass around to people...
Pretty funny that they call this a smokers package so they can charge you extra for that damn little cup ...

From what I've seen first hand , VERY early '95 Contours had an ashtray door that covered the ciggy lighter , while all other '95 - '97 Contours had an ashtray door that left the lighter exposed .
Is that the info you're after ??

Y2KMondeoSVT Both my brother and I own 95SE's and I have an older brother with a 96SE ( solves sibling jealousy ). All three of our cars have cigarette lighters that don't reside behind a door. However, we do have the little green lights surrounding the ciggy lighter, same colour as the lights in the door handles. It is possible that other 1995 models did have the ciggy behind the door. Yup , it's possible . I've only seen 2 Contours with the covered ciggy lighters & they've both been '94 build cars . I always look for the covered ashtrays (Just to be curious) & never see 'em .
I was mainly curious to see if that's the difference he was speaking of .
BTW - my bro's '95 has a "covered" lighter ... my '95 had an "exposed" lighter . I'll try to get a pic of his ashtray as soon as I see him .

thanks for replying all. thats alot of good info, i kind of thought that it didn't look right,  i guess the search is still on because my ciggy doesn't go flush with the rest of the console. also here is my email for those who wanted it. apluckydog@yahoo.com

My 95SE has the door covering the lighter, it was built 11/94, I snapped a few pics.
