According to Terry Haines, some of the engine design work was sub-contracted to a group of Porsche engineers, so there is a kernel of truth in that statement.

I like the comment but I dont know about the Porsche engine design??!? Our car was based off German engineers so you never know.

I like the comment but I dont know about the Porsche engine design??!? Original Duratec design came from Porsche through a Ford contract. Word from a pretty reliable source said it came back to Ford with over 250 hp But since some of that power came from expensive headwork and the like, Ford detuned it to make it a profitable venture. So yes, technically you have a Porsche designed engine, but I can't say how much of the original design translated over to the finished product...I'll leave that answer to the people that are more in the know than I.

I dove an SVT contour it was fast and handled awesome 230hp duratec v6 not too bad but that dude killed that car with all the ****ty graphics here's a tip go online and look up complimentaty colors ummm, ok  who here has a 230hp stock engine?
