It depends on the insurance I think. My sister bought a brand new ZX2 and it got rear end from a drunk guy, did a little under 10k in damage, and they wouldn't total it....the fixed it (or at least tried), it fits together like mixed jigsaw pieces. I readjusted the truck and lock because it wouldn't close :rolleyes:

it was a year and a month or two after i got my svt when i crashed. the insurance co cut me a check for 18,500...i was damn impressed with getting that much for it last summer. i was expecting maybe 16,000. i guess i got a good insurance co. they also paid for every penny of every medical bill i had, like ambulance ride and all the tests they did at the hospital....

I wish they would have totaled mine when i got rearended and I did over $4,000 worth of damage and they faulted me for it and they fixed it has been back to the same shop four time since then for a number of different problems. Like the trunk leaking and the trunk lid wasn't put on right and the glass was not put right, and the didn't line the new panel up right. So all together my car has cost me out of pocket money over $1000.
