I've tried following Kai's instructions for installing an aftermarket tach, but I still can't find where the green wire connects. I don't have a black and white wire coming out of my green wiring harness and I think I've tried just about all of the black and white wires under the dash.
I did look in the chilton and on the schematic for the '96 2.0L there is a B&W wire that goes from pin 48 on the PCM to the tachometer, but the PCM is under the Power Steering resevoir and I can't seem to get to it.

I would really appreciate any help frown

The power stearing resaviour lifts up, no screws or anything bolting it down. It seems kinda hard to get out but you just have to lift up the bottom end first abit, then pull on the top and it will lift up real easy (bottom end being if your standing in front of your car it kinda comes around the stut tower to the left). You will have to play with it but you'll see what I mean. Then you can get to the PCM connecter which has 2 screws on each side. Will probably be easier to pull the connector off the PCM and tap into that wire that way.

Hope that helps.

You can hook up the green signal wire to the black/blue wire in the harness plugging into the coil pack. wink

Thanks everyone for your help. I ended up running the wire from my door across the top of the engine compartment to the white and black wire coming out of the PCM and hooked on to it cool

I'll try to get some pics on fairly soon.
