When you know you need to accellerate, just reach over and turn the a/c knob to "PANEL" for one or two gears. After you're done, turn it back to "AC". The air coming out of the vents only gets a little bit warmer. With the MAX on your car recirculates the air in the cabin so the compressor will not have to work near as hard, hence it will not cycle on so much... ...ya see, the AC is cooling air that is already cool so it doesn't have to cool as much as if it were sucking in outside air(hot)...understand. :p
