Pardon my ignorance and/or stupidity, but I need to have Daytime Running Lights (DRL) installed for my move to Canada. I have a 1995 Mystique, and I checked the photos provided by Bill Jenkins of the fuse box. I DO have the connector with the buss bar as shown on this picture . Does this mean that all I have to get is the actual relay and plug it in? Or do I have to do something else? Appreciate your help.

Pollo_loco69 (Colter): thanks for your help. I already called Ken Garff Ford in American Fork, and they told me that the relay has to be ordered in, and it costs something like US$27. So, not too bad after all. laugh

That is awesome that you are in Orem. laugh Man, is it hot today or is it just me??? Again, thanks for the advice.

If you just have a hole there you are SOL...sorta. wink

Your car doesn't have the plug but I believe you can add the wiring, I really don't remember the details.

I posted before but its seems to have disappeared...
I still have my DRL relay if any of you guys are interested in it. I'll do $15 shipped to Utah for Colter and Nikolay. Not sure about MysterMystique though...where you at?

There are universal DRL kits available that will convert virtually anything to DRL. They are more expensive and require more effort to install though. Ford used to have them in their accessory catalog. They may still have them, but I have not looked lately.

The universal kits from Ford/GM (they're actually the same kit, made by a company called Pacific Insight Electronics in British Columbia)run the low beam at 80% rather than the high beam at 50%. BUT, the unlike the OEM factory DRL, the aftermarket systems can be disabled with the parking brake. An odd omission in the Contiques OEM DRL system.

Installation is pretty simple. I've installed the AC/Delco (GM) kit in three cars. If you've ever installed foglamps or a stereo system, you can install the DRL system yourself.

Here's a pic of the kit's packaging:

If you look closely, you can read the Ford part number.

Installation of the GM kit at a GM dealer ran about $75.
