I was thinking of swapping out my 95 subframe for a 99. I need to replace my steering rack, and control arms, and since I will have the frame out for the tranny rebuild, I thought it might be possible. Does anyone know if the subframes interchange? I would love to keep the newer style control arms...

I think WorldTour swapped his late style subframe for the earlier style ones because it's "better". Not sure why would you want to go to the late one anyway. But if you do, I believe they are interchangable. The shop that rebuilt my tranny dropped the subframe to drop the tranny, so I think you should be able to swap.

Yeah they swap out. Only diff is in the A arm # of bolts. Instead of like 4, there's 2 on each arm. There's even one on ebay. Here.

Yep, seeing that on ebay got me to thinking about it. I don't know about the earlier subframes being "better". I would think that in the area of the subframe, engineering would continue to improve... Like the redesigned control arms. Plus, think of all the kewl things you could do to the "new" frame (like Kewl paint schemes) as you take your time putting pieces on it.

no, Worldtour's car inexplicably has the earlier, horizontal style bushings. He never changed the subframe or anyhitng like that. It is unknown why his has the early subframe/bushings, especially since there is no evidence of an accident, or other major tear up of the car (at least not that I'm aware of)
