I installed my KKM today, but the screen on the MAF didn't fit between the adaptor and the MAF. Should I MAKE it fit? Or will it be ok without it? Thanks!

Or spend $5 and get the gasket from BAT that will allow you to use the screen. It's in there for a reason.

How much performance will I lose if I do use it? I don't imagine it could make but the smallest difference?

Sell it to me, I will dyno with it and without it, and document the results. I am 95% ready for the dyno. New alternator, new optima battery, intake almost done, waiting on inlet pipe, exhaust done, a/f ratio tuned.

I took off the rubber gasket and just squeezed it inbetween the MAF and MAF adapter. The screen isn't anything special; you can cut out a piece of window screen (preferably some water-reactive metal like aluminum or ss) and it'll work just fine. All it does is smooth out the turbulence that conical filters sometimes causes.
