Ok, So I'm am looking to get some gauges for my Tour but I have some questions as I know NOTHING about them.
1. Whats the diff between Mechanical and electric? Which do I need?
2. I know I want an Oil Temp gauge, but what others are the most "informative" gauges. I don't just want them cos they look cool. I want them for a reason!
3. I have a pre 98, spmotorsports sells the gauge pod, but it says it's for 98+ only....why? or is this not true.
4. How hard are they to install?

Like I said, I know NOTHING about gauges so if some of my questions are stupid, I apologize now for them.
Thanks guys.

Well the 98+ gauge pod will fit all Contours. If you can you want electrical, but of course it depends on the gauge. Air/fuel and voltage are good ones to start off on. Install is about medium difficulty. For someone that knows nothing about cars, they will probably be a b*tch to put in.

*For oil pressure use a mech gage and hook it up to the main oil gallery or the remote filter if you have one, using the cylinder head oilway is not reading the most important part of the lube system*Oil temp is good as the 2.5 runs very hot re oil temp*A/F is very inaccurate unless you use a stand alone upgraded 02 sensor which will set you back around $300..!!*Water temp,in degrees, is better than L...N.O.R.M.A.L...H *Manifold vac is a useful tuning aid & general engine condition gage......
