I got a bunch of supplies from working at 3M and I went at my manifold and it turned out great. I decided to buy all the stuff to do it so I could polish up a few. If anyone is interested check it out here: Click Me

The pictures in the post should be pretty big. Scroll down in the post and you will see them attatched at the bottom of my first post. Otherwise I can run out and snap a shot and get it up in a few min if you want something bigger. I don't thing NECO can handle large images though.

Can you post pictures or part numbers for the tools you used? I've been going to polish and clear powder coat mine for quite a while now. I've just pushed it off because sanding drums, then cotton wheels with compounds take a long time to do. Just wondering if anything you used is easier.

Good luck with that SVT UIM. I know Rick has had quite a time stripping his with the media blaster...

Heat soak is bad enough WITH the coating!!!

I can understand cleaning it and coating is with something better maybe, but give me performance over a shiny UIM any day... laugh

Who are we refering to? Ceramic Coated or Polished?

He is referring to polished. He is sending his to me for some polishing.

Hey Brad I doubt it is much easier my way. It takes a long time to sand it down (12hrs) and then lots of good industrial strength aluminum polish. I wouldn't ask for $250 if it was a piece of cake. smile

Bare metal.

Don't worry I think ceramic coating is good! wink

BTW folks - even 20 degrees is a big difference!

High compression, high rpms, lots of timing - yes 20 degrees is a lot... laugh
