The wife told me that Castro came out and said he's on our side in this whole thing. Maybe just lip service, or he's afraid we'll start lobbing cruise missiles from Florida for the heck of it.

Shaun G, Why not? Just because he made some self-serving, gratuitous comments condemning the latest terrorist attacks on the U.S.?
Puhleezzzzze... he is merely attempting to take himself off the list of intended targets of U.S. retaliation. Fidel may be an unapologetic Communist & bloodthirsty, dictatorial tyrant, but he's not stoopid. He knows full well the U.S. has evidence proving his Cuban regime has been a sponsor of terrorism, as well as providing training & other logistic support of various terrorist groups for decades.
He's just doing what any despotic terrorist sympathizer would be doing right now; e.g. covering their own complicit azz.

well americans did have a monopoly in cuba, he was only removing US corporations from his country, as a leader i think he's allowed to do that. It was basically america's get away until castro said no more. I mean the guy before him was the despot, castro (to cubans) is a liberater. The other guy was an oppressor Originally posted by SVT Contour: Shaun G, Why not? Just because he made some self-serving, gratuitous comments condemning the latest terrorist attacks on the U.S.?

Thanks hegoru for bring some light on to why the US an Cuba don't get along. Is Fidel a nice friendly guy? Hell no. Does he belong on the that list..no.
Keep in mind the US had tried to kill him over 15 times and tried to invade his country once.

hegoru & Shaun G, Yeah, Castro is so beloved by those Cuban citizens whom he "liberated" from that oppressively evil U.S. puppet Batista, they are continously risking their lives in order to escape his benevolency...

Thousand of Mexicans nationals come across the border every year in search of a better economic life. Maybe we should attack Mexico.
