Got pics of your painted calipers?
I am thinking about painting my calipers. If any of you have pictures of yours could you post them. I don't know what color to paint them. I have a Red 98.5 SVT. I thought about red, but didn't know if that would clash with the darker red car body I thought about black, but part of my wants them to stand out more, undecided. I also thougth about silver. Thoughts & Pictures would be much appreciated.

IMO Silver would be my first choice unless you match the T-red. I think either JVT or T-RedSVT has his painted, might search for a post by either of them and look for pics. I just painted mine this weekend, haven't had a chance to get any pics. I went Ford blue, brush on and didn't remove the calipers. I masked the first one off and realized how easy it was and just painted the others w/out masking. I did schlop a little but it looks good none the less. I sprayed them down with brake cleaner and took some steel wool to them. Rinsed with water, then took the air compressor to dry them off. Then slapped a few coats of paint on and called it a day. This is a good time to clean the wheels inside and out, and rotate the tires if needed. I'll try to clean my wheels and take a few pics, already have 3 days worth of brake dust on them, damn my heavy foot ![smile smile](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) .

Well, I painted mine satin black (Semi-gloss). I have a silver car and I like the subtle look. I have to touch one up cause my mechanic must have sratched it a little when installing my Mintex pads, so its started to flake away. I left the caliper on while painting it. I just masked everything off. It was really easy. Here are some pics. Oh, my g/f has a French Blue Mercury Cougar C2 and she's going to paint her's body color. High temp engine paint, hammerite or caliper paint works. Heres what mine looked like after 50k miles of dirt on the caliper paint Not too bad considering. And before you ask those are Tarox 20 groove disks with Kevlar pads

HAHAHA!!! That was good... I painted mine with the Aluminum Duplicolor High Temp 1200 degree engine paint paint. Really easy to do, and YEAH, much cheaper than the FoliaTec stuff... GOD. I wanted to use the FoliaTec stuff, which is about $50 and you would have to hand paint. Covered everything with large shop towels, and sprayed... All four done with just one jack, in about 2 hours. Sprayed, and let them sit... Had the wheels on at about 2 hrs... and had them sit overnight.

This is with my old rims. It is the cheapest can of high temp engine paint I could find. They have been painted for over a year and no problems.
