It will turn the color to a dull, dark gray. Please learn from my mistake. I tried about 5 differnt brands and types of clearcoat, and they all turned out the same. I had to strip the paint and redo the whole thing. mad It was a pain in the rear...so take my advice. The paint will still hold up just fine as long as you only clean it with soap and water.

You must have missed my multiple posts on the clearcoat and chrome paint... wink

Hey LBV,

Those are the RAGE 5.0 rims which can be found at DiscountTireDirect
They were a really good price and you can't beat the look that it gives any Contour, SVT or not. I looked at every aftermarket rim for the tour for months while i was saving up, and the first time i saw these on 98RedSVT's car, I knew that I had to look no further. I am VERY satisfied with the results so far!

Thanks for the all the great comments guys!

I want to give a special thanks to 98RedSVT, without seeing your car I would have never bought these rims and it wouldn't look as great as it does today!

1BADSVT,
It looks as though you've done some suspension mods. What have you done? I would love to decrease the fender gap on my car but some mods seem to lower the cars too much. Yours looks just about perfect with the rim/tire combo.

I have the Eibach Pro Kit springs. I love the way it looks, but if I had it to do over again, I would choose the H&R springs. The Eibachs are lower in the rear than in the front, and the H&R's are just the opposite...giving the car a "raked" look which i like much better.

Thanks for your reply to my question about the springs. One more question. Did you replace your grill work? At first I thought you painted the grill but on closer examination it looks like you replaced with an actual woven mesh. It it just a great paint job? If not what did you use to replace it with? It looks great!
