Yesterday I cut off my muffler to my 98 Contour SE ATX. I was driving it around to see how good it sounded for about 1/4 miles. I took a turn and then heard a LOUD noise from under my car. I pulled into the nearest parking lot and took a look. My cat had fallen down, the bolts holding it up had rusted and cracked. "DAMNIT", now I had alot more work to do. I drove the car back to my friends house and we decided to take his 2002 WRX MTX to the nearest store for parts. On the way to the store, someone had cut us off, we slammed the brakes and the ABS kicked in. The car dipped and was sliding all over the damn road, we slid onto and OVER the 10" high median with grass and all.. The tires had folded off the rims and we kept sliding into ONCOMING traffic at about 40 - 50 mph. We almost hit the middle of 3 lanes head on, but fortunatly we turned to the side at the last minute and my friends driver side was hit. Needless to say, it is probably totaled and we were in alot of pain, still am.
All said and done, my car is fixed and sounding good, and his brand new car is totaled... all for some dumb drill bits. Some $15 dollars worth of bits ended up costing 20k$ + in damages, to his car.
