So where do ppl like to run? Here's my picks and pans for Cleveland (Cuyahoga County).

Top Running Spots:
-- 480W after clearing the ValleyView bridge. Once you see down the little hill, if there's no pork in the median, you have a REAL NICE little hill down into about 4 miles of straight away. 4 lanes.

-- 480E but before the 271/422 split. When you get to the Broadway exit and the right lane merges, you can actually stay in the lane and blast down for a good mile or two. Almost never are there cops between there and the 271/422 split. 4 lanes.

-- 71N after passing W25th. Run it all the way into downtown until you hit deadman's curve. Watch for changing traffic patterns. It keeps it interesting. 2-4 lanes.

-- 71N, Scranton/W.25th exit ramp. Get on the ramp, stay full throttle, get off the ramp at the other end. Blow by all the slow-azz traffic still travelling north. 1-2 lanes.

-- 480E, once you are on the bridge across from NASA (Clague Rd exit is on the other side 480W) you can pretty much run that all the way up to Tiedeman, and sometime even as far as Ridge. If you are completely nuts, run from the bridge (Fairview Park) ALL THE WAY to 77. THAT'S A CRAZY RUN! Not many cops, but PLENTY of places for them to hide out. Plus, keeping on 480 near the 71 split merges into 2 lanes for 480E traffic. May be a solid brake check there, but it opens up very quickly after that.

-- Test your cars handling. 480E to 71S on ramp. You'll veer off right to the 71N/71S ramp. Pick a lane as you hit the left hand curve under the bridge, move into the right lane and take the 71S ramp up & to the right. Watch the first 1/3 of the ramp. There's a slight inclination that if you're not careful, will understeer you smack into the wall. (It happens to be one of Newton's Laws at work!)

On the "handling test" I managed exactly 70mph on everything stock. My tires were BFG Euro T/A's @ 225/50/15. Great tires for the price. My new tires (Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Positions @ 225/45/17) are screming to got through theree once the weather warms up. I'm expecting damn near 80mph if the suspension hold out (as well sa my balls.) As we all know, come out of the power on FWD, and you can kiss it (the wall, that is...)

I love my Contour to death, but my 'vette is still my #1 baby.

Great race spot is route 8, red light to red light (after northfield center's 25mph death trap wink ) and with the speed limit being 55-60 you can get moving well above 75 before a large fine would be in order if you did get busted. Good race/0-60 practice

I ran an Avenger from I-71N in Berea to 480E and 77N/S junction. I would pull way ahead (above 120mph) then slow down to let him get side by side again and run him again. We both were doing over 100 through weekend traffic between Tiedeman and State rd. It was a blast, but had we been caught we'd both be walking instead of driving frown

Went through Dead Man's Curve at 80, eh? How did you drive it? Did you one lane it all the way through? Or race-proper, from the outside, to the inner apex, then drift back out to the wall? I haven't been through there on a run in a while. Have to revisit it soon (once this crap snow leaves town for good!)

I usually take that corner race-proper, but it gets tricky when there are cars staggered through there all doing different speeds.

Yeah, I'm down with Rt.8 once it turns to 60mph up until like you said, Cuyahoga Falls where it drops down to 55.

On Rt. 8 though, watch as you approach the last strip before the turnpike (I-80). Cop always hanging out on the embankment.

Can't believe I forgot this one!!!

I90 Eastbound
Starting from Downtown (hell, starting from W.25th on 71N), once yo go through Dead Man's Curve, it's full throttle down 4 lanes of highway until you come up to E.140th.

I just went down it yesterday after work to check for places where the 5-0 could hide out. Really isn't anywhere except helicopter, and the city doesn't use helicopters for traffic patrol. From downtown to E.140th is a good couple of miles. Most pedestrian traffic takes the middle two lanes which leaves the outer lanes for cruising down. Coming out of downtown, you'll get some nice high-speed curves as well.
