I'm trying to buy another contour and this dealer is trying do charge me $50 for a "document fee" on top of the title registration fee. Is this correct in Ohio, I've never payed this on any of my other car purchases. Is this normal? Or is he tryin to get extra money outa me. Thanks!

I've never heard of it before and didn't pay such a fee last year on my CSVT. It sounds like the dealer is making more money. Call the Title Bureau at the Clerk of the Common Pleas Court for the answer.

Sounds like an extra to me, BUT Edmunds says that a documentation fee that's reasonable (like $50 not $250) you might pay.

Although, is it an administrative cost? I don't know.
