I remembered something or other about a resistor mod that helps the SVT not lean out on the top end. I even searched for it (imagine that!) and found some posts about WHAT it is, but not HOW to do it. Tried Dom's link that was in the post and it didn't work.
So . . I guess I'll ask here. Is there a how-to somewhere? Any adverse side effects?

Okay, last question on this . . . went to R.S. and of course had to buy a jumbo pak-o-resistors 'cause they didn't have the right one in stock. I DON'T WANNA CUT THE WRONG WIRE. Question: The IAT is in the metal housing that my KKM intake setup bolts to? Squarish black plug on top, 4 wires, furthest to the left is white/blue stripe? That's the one, right? Hey, gotta get to work in the a.m., don't wanna cut the wrong one . . .

No no no ... that's not the right sensor - The sensor you are referring to is the (MAF) Mass Airflow Sensor.. That's not what you insert the resistor into.. The little IAT sensor - Mounted in the rubber bellows betweent the (MAF) and the throttle body is where you are doing the mods.. I have pics if you need the reference..
P.S. Posting this in the outside forums basically causes problems because their are alot of different opinions (And everyone has to be right) so don't be suprised if it turns into something you didn't expect...lol

Thanks Dom . . . I went "outside" 'cause I'm anxious to get this in and wasn't getting the lightning-fast replies that I've come to know and love (how DARE you have a life! ) So I WAS set straight on the wires, though I THOUGHT that was the MAF. It was the correct-colored wire that threw me. I waited before cuttin', though. As for the other opinions, I'm aware that everyone's got 'em. And I'll listen to most--that's how I learn. But I stick to those who speak from experience and have been runnin' the stuff I'm looking into (that's you, Dom ) On a totally self-serving, off-topic rant, last night my '68 Holman and Moody prepped Mustang fastback got backed into. So much for boasting about the all original, never repaired/worked sheet metal. And I couldn't even take out my frustration on the guy-- he's in his 70s. Damn morals. I need a beer.

Dom, I am definately not trying to open a can of worms or anything, but doesn't it bother you when people follow you blindly? AND kiss up to you? I couldn't handle that. Fwiw, I don't totally disagree with you on this issue either, some detail, sure, but overall I agree with you on the effects of the IAT mod, and I think that is plain on the other post on this subject. I don't really understand why different opinions is bad on stuff like this. now if someone has FACTS wrong, that is totally different. btw, I still owe you my thoughts on your exhaust Short version - only real issue I have is tubing size, too large, hurts gas velocity. Anything else was related to something you had complained about on other exhaust setups but was no better or worse on yours (eg, weight, you complained about the weight of a true dual, but really yours would only be minimally lighter if it was lighter at all, while the borla et al, would be lighter than all of them) Crush bends are not that bad, especially if they are carefully made, etc. obviously mandrel bends are preferred, but hey, what are you gonna do, right? Tradeoffs must be made to make a workable product, it happens everywhere.
It's all about balance.

I DO not follow blindly. Nor do I KISS UP. I have had a VERY bad last 2 days and I will take that into account for my attitude for what I just read. I'd hate to vent and get banned. . . My point is . . . oh, @!#$@#! I'll do it myself.

Whoa!!!!!!CAM2 - Cool down my man... It's just a simple thing.. Don't let anyone ruffle your feathers (I am learning how to do this really well now).. Anyhow.. Brian, I never said anything about you in this?? The point I made here was that I wanted to stay out of that post because it had my name in it.. and all the favorites were putting their .02 worth in and haven't done it. So I just didn't want a big (discussion) flame about it.

Okay. As I said, I just had my perfect Mustang trashed. I will admit, I'm not in a very jovial mood. It doesn't take much to ruffle my feathers at this exact moment. Perhaps I read the post wrong. Perhaps not. For what it's worth, Doc, I didn't mean to drag you into anything. Heck, I quoted one of your old posts from the other forum that was given to me as a link. I was just trying to get the lowdown is all. And, for what it's worth, I'm not kissing up or blindly following . . . but you make the most sense with this mod. Period. That's all I was saying. Sorry if I'm comin' off wrong. Been a bad week.
