Toyota, and I should say most Japanese car makers have a problem with their exaust designs. Toyota is most famous for this. They do it on just about every model that they make. They have been criticized for this by C/D and Motor Trend and others numerous times. Toyota Camry/Lexus ES 300, Toyota Avalon, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Highlander/Lexus RX 300, the Land Cruiser/LX 470 plus Celica and others have tailpipes hanging close to the ground or have huge mufflers that are visible hundreds of feet away from the car. Same goes for Honda with the V6 Accord/Acura TL the POS CRV and other "Fine" automobiles that these companies produce. Just imagine buying a brand new luxury car such as the ES 300, paying $35,000 and then being asked by your neighboor if your exaust is falling apart already...
For God sakes, learn how to tuck away the fricking piping you morons!!!

Mine rust with just 5k miles on it too. Just needed some chrome polish, but it's an excuse to replace it.
