yeah the light was exposed or else what would be the point. the wiring was between the hoodliner and the hood. and now that i removed the liner it is exposed.

You won't have any problems if you remove the hood liner... just do it. Don't worry about your washer lines (my 98' doens't even have a liner) or your hood light... nothing is going to get hurt.

I clipped and pulled my engine bay light when I removed the hoodliner anyway. I figure my D-cell Maglite would be more useful than the automotive equivalent of a nightlight.
