I was on my way to work (3rd shift) and I pass the local 7 Eleven. I see a bunch of police cars and I automatically think robbery. I get a little further and what do I see? A car crashed through the front of the store almost ALL THE WAY IN! Late model Camry. I just hope no one was seriously hurt. I wonder what happened?

A 91 year old man crashed his cargo van through my parents garage. Lived 3 doors down from us, got reverse and drive mixed up, hit the gas thinking it was the brakes and drove through the neighbors yard and into our house. If it had happened 10 minutes later, my truck would have been in the garage and would have been totalled.

what gets me is that people, even ones not old, get confused hit gas thinking it's brake, have plenty of time to hit brake, but don't because they were "startled"

A couple of months ago, some a--hole crashed his car into the front of a Burger King in NJ because he was depressed and wanted to kill somebody. He did - the grandmother who was closing up. They estimate he was going 80 MPH as the BK is on a major road. No skid marks or any indication of braking.
