That could be your insurance companies fault. They only check the status of your license so often, and have a tendency to forget to do that if you haven't had an accident in a long time. Sometimes the communications between states is screwed up (it's a government operation afterall  ), but usually all violations get reported as they should.

Sandman maybe you misread what i said. Here is what i got from NYSDMV.com If I get a moving violation ticket in another state, does it affect my New York license or points? New York DMV does not record out-of-state violations committed by NYS drivers in other jurisdictions, except for out-of-state alcohol or drug-related violations (e.g. DUI) and moving violations committed in Quebec and Ontario. Therefore, except for violations in Ontario and Quebec, points are not added to your NYS record for out-of-state violations. However, if you fail to answer a ticket or pay a fine for a moving violation in any state except Alaska, California, Michigan, Montana, Oregon or Wisconsin, your NYS license will be suspended until the ticket is answered or the fine is paid. A driver from any state, except the six listed above, will have his or her license suspended for failure to answer a moving violation summons or pay a fine in NYS. If you are convicted of an alcohol or drug-related driving violation in any state, your NYS license will be revoked for at least six months. Otherwise, except for convictions in Quebec or Ontario under special agreements, out-of-state traffic convictions are not recorded on NYS license records and do not carry points. Out-of-state drivers ticketed in NYS should contact their home-state DMV about the affect of a conviction in NYS. NYSDMV

Therefore, except for violations in Ontario and Quebec, points are not added to your NYS record for out-of-state violations.I was just answering your question as it pertains to the law in IL. I am not familiar with NY State Statutes. Rest assured, if you ar ticketed in a state that is a member of the NVC, it will be reported to NY. What they do with it from there is their business. In IL, the law states that the violation with be charged to your driving record just as if it had occured in IL. If NY chooses to disregard most violations, that is up to them. However, if you fail to answer a ticket or pay a fine for a moving violation in any state except Alaska, California, Michigan, Montana, Oregon or Wisconsin, your NYS license will be suspended until the ticket is answered or the fine is paid. A driver from any state, except the six listed above, will have his or her license suspended for failure to answer a moving violation summons or pay a fine in NYS.Yep, that is the NVC, and those are the idiotic states that do not subscribe to it. IMO, they are far behind the times and a hindrance to law enforcement nationwide. If you are convicted of an alcohol or drug-related driving violation in any state, your NYS license will be revoked for at least six months. Otherwise, except for convictions in Quebec or Ontario under special agreements, out-of-state traffic convictions are not recorded on NYS license records and do not carry points. In IL, a first violation (in the last 5 years) nets you a 3 month minimum suspension (among other fines and requirements) provided you complete all requested chemical tests, no matter if the violation occured in IL or another state. Refusal or failure to complete any requested chemical test at the time of arrest results in a mandatory minimum 6 month suspension. Out-of-state drivers ticketed in NYS should contact their home-state DMV about the affect of a conviction in NYS. NYSDMV In IL it's the Secretary of State's Office that controls license/registration. The NVC provides for an agreement of reciprocity, meaning that if your home state is in the NVC and you fail to pay a ticket from another state in the NVC, you can look forward to a suspension.

Oh yeah, they get sent to my e-mail and I usually just read them that way. Thanks again though All went well, didn't see too much police activity on the way there or back, which is good because my friend was pushing 90-100 on the highway. However it did remind me how bad my suspension is
Every time I come online I wonder if the forums will be up

I don't about any where else, but here you would have a bench warrant issued for your arrest.

Typically they issue a warrant for your arrest, but put geographical limits on it. Thus, the warrant is only good in the issuing and surrounding counties. This is because they do not want to extradite you from a distance for a simple speeding violation.
