OK, I just graduated from Penn State in May and my Dad wants to buy me something.

I figure a tool set(s) from Sears will do just fine.

Questions are:
1) What Craftsman tool set(s) do you recommend?
I've been looking at Part#00934825000 and Part#00934826000.

2) Aside from tools and jewelry, what's a life-long gift I should get.

Price range is roughly $400.

I don't want car mods.

I think asking for tools is definitely a great idea for a "life-long gift"
do you have a decent sized tool box to put them all in??
I just bought CobraR a Craftsman tool box for christmas for about $300-$400 alone.
Perhaps you could ask for one of those big puppies instead and slowly fill it with tools.
(somehow Mike's is already pretty darn full!)

btw, just wanted to add, that I love love LOVE going into Sear's and just browsing the tools.

Yeah, it seems like they have more than you could need. But when I went in today looking for a sanding block I left empty-handed.

Her idea of getting a good chest is a good one I think as well. I'm not a huge fan of crapsman so I would probably shop around ( Home Depot, Lowes and online) and see what I could scare up.

I'm not a fan of Craftsman socket wrenches, but their sockets are decent. Snap-on makes great socket wrenches but for a premium. The greatest open-ended wrenches are made by Stahlwille. They are thin yet strong; way better than Craftsman. Snap-On and Matco make good wrenches also, but they cost more than Stahlwille. I'd defintiely get a set of these first.

I got a huge set of Craftsman tools, and 2 toolboxes for Christmas. Couldn't have gotten a better gift. There's nothin like havin a good set of tools.
