Well last night I just got a RX-7 1986.... Ya ya I know its used and 86 isn't really new, but it is to me. It's going to be my TRUE racer. I already yanked the AC and next is going to be the lines and tow hitch. These rotories are amazing...... I'm going to do a motor swap and few minor mods to see it in the 10sec. But only time will tell so I'll post everynow and then to show you the progress of it all. Oh ya have to fear, I'm not going to get rid of the SVT, its getting some engine mods too. I just a beater that pulls and well this my friends will fool alot

Congrats on the new ride! The place I work at www.victoriabritish.com sells parts for all year RX-7s, catalogs are free, so it can't hurt to order one. We have a lot of suspension pieces, OE and aftermarket, restoration parts, and a few aftermarket pieces. I know APT has ordered from us a few times after I got him a catalog. if you have any questions, drop me a line.

Well the engine been replaced once already, being an 86 with 118,000 miles on it and not leaking a drop of oil give me a good feeling that its been replaced. I think I going to put a turbo on it

You DO know you can't just slap a turbo on an N/A rotary engine, right? Just one detonation and it's all over. You'll blow the apex seals out and wipe out the engine. Turbocharged rotaries have low compression rotors, that are made to handle boost. Either you give that thing a periphereal port job, extractors and a Dual throat 48mm Weber carb, or yank it and fit a Series-IV RX-7 turbo engine (or newer). That's what my buddy did to his RX-3 back in Australia. He ran it with a Microtech Digi 1+ engine management unit and that bugger flew. Too bad the brakes where crap, but he had a Vovlo caliper conversion for that. Unfortunately he sold it to go to school. Nonetheless if you want to find a lot of good info on rotaries, look at some of the Australia websites like PAC Performance or Mazfix etc, Rotomotion (from my home town - Perth). as the Aussies really took a shining to rotaries and they still dominate the import drag racing scene down there.

THye a write up on a guys RX3 in the latest SCC. Looks freakin' saaweeettt. Most of the part are off an RX7. I'd love to find an RX3 and fix it up. Not too many parts out there though. If you can find a solid body an RX7 can be used for the rest of the parts.

Well I was planning on getting a complete engine, tranny, ECU for a shop up here that deals with JAP engines. I'm kinda looking for a 20B right now but still have thought about shelling all this money in my beater and not my contour..... Thought?????
