Girls do not like to be treated like crap! And if they do then they have serious problems and aren't looking for a serious relationship.

I have always been one of those "Nice Guys" and while it didn't get me very far in highschool it did allow me to meet one very special girl. And I've been with her ever since? (6 Years now)

I hate this saying...because think about it. If your looking for a serious relationship...why the hell would you treat someone like crap! I just don't get it...It seems to me you guys are just looking to get LAID!

Not to make light of a serious situation but usually there are two sides to every story. And if what your saying is true...your better off without her! Find yourself a woman who enjoys making you just as happy as you make her!

Fraid not....I don't think girls can be summed up in one phrase! I think it would take a lifetime to begin to understand what goes through a womans head!

I was thinking about this last night, here's my take:

To be bad is popular these days (as I'm sure it was in the past too). For example I hear on this board all the time about "pimping" whether its a car or a chick or whatever, when I think of a pimp I think of someone who prostitutes women. Is that a good thing? I never thought so. However its used in a context of being good. More recently I read a post where someone wrote that they were "thugging" one night. Again, a word I thought means something bad, but in the context of what he was saying it seemed to be a good thing. ? So, being bad is cool because it gets chicks. It's up to chicks to go for quality guys and its up to guys to be good quality. No matter what everyone else is doing you have to be able to be confident in your own decisions. When you try to follow the crowd against your sub-conscious better judgement is when you become cynical and think that your not being "bad" enough and that girls go for bad guys.

Sillyness abounds, jerks get girls because at least they will talk to a girl at the bar. I've been to bars dozens of times and seen girls but couldn't bring myself to go over there, partly because you are putting yourself on the line and think the worst (her just turning around and not talking to you which has happened). Jerks are not that interested in the girl to begin with so there isn't much pressure on the girl to respond favorably where as with a regular guy she can see how interested he is and (depending on the girl) can feel like he is relying too much on her positive response (pressure) and get scared away, the girl wants the man to rely on, not vice versa.

All in all, women are humans just as much as men, not gods to be put on a pedestool. When you do that, you run into trouble. Many girls these days have let some of that attention go to their head, even ugly girls dress provacitively and think they are the shiat. :rolleyes: So its not just guys that act like jerks but hey what are you gonna do? Mope about that **** naaa get on with it

my current girlfriend was treated like crap for the past 2 years by 2 different guys, one of em actually used to hit her when they were dating, and started harassing her the other day, long after they'd broken up... i know where he lives.

anyhow i'm kind of a 'nice guy', i'm more laid back and relaxed than anything else, i dont have anything to prove and i'm not real hung up on girls. I think what let me get her was the fact that she doesnt really have to try to change anything about me to keep me liking her and her liking me, she knows i wont treat her badly and i know she wont dick me over like my last girl.

Real men will always do their utmost to treat the people in their lives with respect. Yes, there are those who will crap all over you. However, being a user/player/badguy/jerk in return will solve nothing.

Maybe so, but I've seen it to many times that the jerk goes home with the girl and gets laid and the nice guy goes home with himself.

Thanks for all the good advice in here. I think frenchblueC2 nailed it. I will continue to be myself, and if she doesnt like it, well then thats her loss cause I know I would treat her great. I never wanted to 'play games' with this girl, I just wanted to make a good impression with her, because I like her so much. No, I dont want that one sidded relationship, I just got out of one, and it hurt like hell. We will just have to see how it goes... -Nick
