Funny story. Well not funny to me but it may be to some of you. I'm driving into work this a.m. and I have a can of icey cold Coke on my passenger seat for a refreshing treat at lunch. I'm shooting down the expressway and proceed to get off at my exit. I'm zooming up the exit and the light turns yellow. I have enough time to safely make it but I must maintain my brisk speed. I drift er turn left and Mr. Soda goes flying onto the floor. Didn't think much of it at the time. I leave it on the floor because a.) I'm too busy driving and b.) I can't reach it. I hit the second light off the expressway and stop. So the shiney red can has been rolling around building pressure for about a minute or so. As the light goes green the pop rolls back at mach 2 speeds and gets punctured by one of the seat brackets sending carbonated beverage everywhere. When I say everywhere I mean EVERYWHERE. It hit the cabin roof, front window, passenger door, window, seat, various dash areas, and me! I'm trying to shift and block the flow of pop directed at me and the white shirt I have chosen to wear today. So right now I'm in the process of cleaning the car. I can't really get at it until I can get access to my cleaners at home. And I don't really have time to clean it because I have to pick up my tux for the wedding I'm in this weekend, get a haircut, return some shorts I bought and decided I don't like, and shop for a wedding gift.

I am not making this up, the EXACT same thing happened to me. It was a mess. I got soaked and had to drive back home to change. I took the morning off to clean. I couldn't believe how far 12 oz will go.

My mom left a 12 pack in her back seat while she was at work the other week. It was probably one of our hottest days so far this summer... PV=nRT.. Temp went up, pressure went up.. BOOM. Wouldn't have been so bad, but she had opened the 12 pack and taken a can in to put in the fridge. So when she came out to the car after work, the inside of the car was covered in soda that had been baking in the hot sun for a few hours. Good thing it was diet soda... Was a real mess to clean up. Cleaned the leather, shampooed the carpets and floormats, Windex to the headliner (be careful not to get it too wet, or you'll ruin the glue and have a sagging headliner), Zymol cleaner to the interior plastic.

Thnaks for the advise! Luckily only half spewed all over. Still seemed like 12oz. instead of 6oz.

I'm surprised how much a little plastic cup of soda goes as well. We get "courtesy cups" at work (fast-food restaurant) and one day I brought one in the car to drink home. Held onto it the entire way, since the cup can't support a lid cap. I put it in my mouth (teeth on rim) for 1/4 mile.. it was half full by this time.. not thinking, I prepared to switch lanes and whipped my head around to see if there was anybody in the next lane. Soda went in my eyes, all over my face, and all over the console!

LMAO! New development to the story. Left my windows down 4" to air out the car. Well it proceeds to pour here. Now my interior is soaked. The day just keeps getting better.

Bad thing about soda stains they keep reappearing after a few weeks. I would not use a rinse in vac because you will keep pulling the stain out of the sponge of the seat. Go to wal-mart and get like the bissel foam cleaner and that will work allot better. Big red soda is the worst.

Same thing here Except that it happened on a fast right turn. Fortunately noone else was around, so with my best reaction time ever I was able to lean to the other side, grab the can, open the door and throw it out while it was spraying coke to every direction. When it hit the road next to the car, it simply exploded, so most of the coke ended up on the side of my car. There's another story though, might worth sharing: someone (who borrowed my car) has left a half-empty small mineral water bottle UNDER THE DRIVER's seat. At the first harder braking, it darted forward, and stuck between the clutch & brake pedal. Luckily enough, the car was slow enough already by this and I didn't hit anything - but it was scary. Tiv
