Anyone else notice the ad in Car and Driver on page 70 that says it's getting a 340hp Supercharged V8 and 20" chrome wheels?? Wouldn't mind a 4-door for hauling the bike trailer and boat around. Front looks much like a lightning, probably not as quick though, it's still short 40hp and ?tq, with alot more weight to pull around.

I think its basically a detuned Lightning motor. The new colors are pretty cool too. I just have no use for a truck like that. Can't afford one either.

Have you been hiding under a rock for the past 6 months? smile The HD Super Crew F-150 has been out for some time now.

Yes it is a Lightning motor with a bigger SC pulley on it. Bigger pulley produces less boost, therfore less power. So basically buy a smaller pulley and you can walk lightnings all day! There were 2 or 3 at Ennis when we were there for the National meet in June, doiing exactly that, walking everything they raced!

Stickers for a few hairs over 38k, but has everything you would need/want, including dubs! A bit more practical than the L, sinc eyou can seat 4 comfortibly.

I'll take one in the dark silver please! laugh

I'd rather have one of dem dodge rams comin' out. srt... looks better, goes faster..more reliable...i've rode in many fords and my dad's ram. the ram just seems like it's better, better ride and interior, and looks gooood. Even though I have a ford, i'll admit to the fact they're not all that relaible.

Don't even get me started on the srt-10

The Harley truck isn't bad but I think the wheels are nasty and it's a little too chromey, I'd just get a lightning anyway, but that's me

I have found that the F-150s are VERY reliable, have very good interior quality, especially so with the HD models. If I wasn't such a poor *******, I would consider one. I would in no way even consider a Dodge truck, unless the deal was spectacular enough to turn around and sell it for a profit. Any experience I have had with one, I have come away thuroughly unimpressed, especially compared to Chevy and Ford trucks.

And what exactly do you think the Lightning motor is? It is indeed a de-tuned Lightning motor (which is a supercharged 5.4L SOHC).

Very few of life's problems can not be solved with the reasonable application of more horsepower!

It'd be pretty tough to walk Lightnings with all that added weight. The lightning will still be the winner even if they have the same power levels.
