Either one of these cars could be the next great beast to shade my driveway. In a few years, once I can get one used on the cheap, cause I'm a tightwad. Both are featured in the new issue of C&D that I just got in the mail yesterday. Drool, drool :p Didn't realize that a stock Altima will hit 60 MPH in 6.3 seconds! Holy crap! The 350Z is a whole different ball o'wax, at 5.4 seconds in the 0-60 sprint. Incredible. You folks in the U.S.A. are lucky the 350Z starts around $27K, in Canada, the base price is $44,900 Canadian, which is a straight exchange from USD to CAD PLUS about 15% tacked on. We're getting ripped off. At least not on the Altima, which for a base 3.5 SE 5-sped is about $28K Canadian, about what it would comparably cost in the States. What do fellow CEG'ers think about these cars, the 350Z in particular? Would you buy it over a Mustang Cobra and save about $5K????

You're kidding, right? The Cobra is in a league all of it's own, no comparison. Plus, figure that there's about $8K worth of options on the 350Z, so you could get to where the prices are equal, in which case it's a no-brainer.

I'm kind of partial to the Altima myself :p ...but i like this forum a whole lot better. There are too many immature a-holes at Altimas.net, and you know I just rollover and play dead when so confronted.

Actually, we get a better deal up here. Compare the options on the US base 350Z and our "base" model here (go to Nissan's US and Cdn websites), and you'll find that ours is better equipped. It is comparable to the next level up in the US version IIRC. Also compare the fully-loaded US and Cdn "track" models. I like the 350Z, but I am waiting for the G35 Coupe.
