Man, that is terrible. No matter how many mangled cars people see pictures of, they still do crazy things. Other than ice, I can't think of worse conditions to be speeding with no seatbelts...but like they said, it probably would not have mattered.

I blew the tire on my '96 Contour while driving to Illinois from Virginia...I drove into a curb at a Sunoco gas station on the Ohio Turnpike (whomever designed those curbs needs to re-think them, as they jut out around the gas pumps and you can't see them).
I wasn't going to drive the remaining 350 or so miles on a compact spare, so I found a Walmart and had a new tire put on.
Other people probably WOULD have driven the rest of the way with the compact spare!

That road is under major major major constuction. I mean, I have a hard time driving it at the posted speed of 45mph with all the barricades and stuff they have up. I cannot imagine doing 100 mph on that road.
I have seen my fair share of wrecks here, but never one this bad.

There was a honda driving around where I live recently, and all four tires were spares. They were reversed so they stuck out to the finder. At the time I had a pretty good laugh, because it was the stupidest thing I had ever seen, but after I though about it a while I realized how dangerous it was. I sure hope he eventually got pulled over. Going that speed in a construction zone is dangerous. Going that speed in a construction zone with wet roads is insane. Going that speed in a construction zone with wet roads, and on a spare tire is.............I don't know what that is.
