I ran across the www.naawp.org website tonight doing some research on the NAACP. I think this is either a very twisted joke/satire, a serious jab at the founding of the NAACP, or a very scary epidemic of repolerization of the ethnic climate.

My view on these type of orginization is that they serve no real purpose but to encourage Racism. They use size and cloute to force other people/orginizations/government to do as the former wants. This, to me, would seem to offer nothing but further resentment. In effect creating what they are supposed to over come.

Maybe some of you are more in the know on Racial issues than I am so what's the deal?

The NAACP's original mission was a good one, but its modern leaders have taken the organization in a terrrible direction. They're all about political gain and power these days. Instead of attempting to advance their people, they try to tear white people down. The to-date worst example of this I have ever heard of is when Ray Rhodes was fired from the Packers after they had an awful season. The NAACP had the balls to say he was fired because he was black. Well, he was hired, wasn't he? The Packers' management must have discovered their racism after they hired him.

To make it all worse, it's done with YOUR tax dollars. The ad in the 2000 election that claimed GWB was racist because he wouldn't sign some hate crimes bill was paid for by YOU.

And this is different from any other group that espouses to support a single race?

I think it begs the question, why is it ok for there to be an NAACP, but not an NAAWP?

I certainly don't agree with the whole stop immigration thing.

But I do agree with the idea that equal opportunity doesn't mean that quotas are enacted or there exist multiple standards depending on your race, religion or national origin.

You wanna get into a school, job, whatever, then the color of your skin should not be a pro or a con.

Write all the laws you want, but it will not change people, there will always be racists, including members of the NAACP.

Ironically, racism is an equal opportunity affliction, no race is immune from it.

However, I do agree that any group that is pointing out differences, is only adding to the problem. I hear very little from these groups about actually building a truly integrated society.

I guess that died with MLK after the "I have a dream" speach.

Exactly. People forget that MLK wanted us to live together, not for one to be superior to the other.

I often view the modern (Jesse, Al, etc.) civil rights movement in the same way I do the feminist movement. While their entire goals are to make their people stronger, they love programs (legistlation, etc.) that support a stereotypical weakness: that blacks don't have the ability to get a job on their own; that women can't defend themselves from men alone (asking someone out is now considered sexual harassment in some places, not getting specific consent to have sex can be considered rape).

I hope my typo in the sentance about immigration didn't get anyone worked up. I was thinking one word, wrote another and completely changed the meaning of the message.

It should be fixed now, and more accurately convey my beliefs.

Well, just think, in 60 years, it will be us white people that are the minority......just a thought to think about........

Hmmmmmm....Antarctica, anyone? Just kidding...

I do think there will be a day when every minority, or group that has been opressed in the past will effecively make the white male the minority.

Anyone want to discuss affirmative action? Don't get me started on this one :rolleyes:

What's sad as hell is that the NAAWP website actually has some truths in it. Though 90% is tainted by silly, paranoid, racist bigotry, our media is deathly afraid to offend any so called minorities, but the way I see it, being a white male is the worst sort of minority. And what if we had a WET, alongside BET, what would people think of that? Hmmmmm? Makes ya think doesn't it?
