Just drove up from Orlando to do the seaworld (and Discovery Cove)thing with my family and caught this State Trooper lurking at International Drive off of I-4.
Wonder what kind of Police Special Camaro this is??
Incidentally, saw a similar SC trooper Camaro as well, off of I-95 handing someone a ticket.

They recently rolled out a fleet of them.
Not sure how many... I don't think they are anything special, maybe extra cooling for the oil and tranny.

200 of these Z28's were delivered to FHP this year. My paw-in-law is a fleet manager at the dealership that won the bid for these.

Shouldn't be too many differences between it and your standard Z28 with the 4L60E autobox. I can check into it...

A stock z28 isnt by any means slow anyways LOL. Just was wondering if they get a police package or something else special. Seeing this in my rear view mirror would certainly ruin my day (or vacation!!)

Incidentally, ticket free driving from N.VA to Ft. Lauderdale, then up to Orlando via the turnpike, and back to N. Va, yeah!!!!

BTW, since i have been driving I-95 for several years now on vacations, i have begun to write down all the mile markers where i see state troopers lurking and or hanging out or pulling folks over - and S. Carolina (markers 12, 36, 98, 115, 119 and 146;)) takes the cake, LOL.

I know our local police have at least 5-7 of them, most are unmarked. Just have to look over the passenger side on the windshield for the lights.
I saw one person had a collection on 4 of them behind him. I guess he wanted to see all the colors they offered.

We have too many of those here around Chicago.

They get the 1-LE upgrade package to them. Stiffer bushings , Upgraded driveline mounts, beefier engine oil/ transmission cooler, less restrictive intake elbow are some of the differences.

EDIT : They also get 3.23 gearing and a aluminum driveshaft. No speed limiter!!!
