Hey everyone,
Just recently, I have been getting calls from people saying that I've been sending out some funky emails - but I haven't. I noticed something funny or at least suspicious - what i think anyway.

does anyone know what winkkuj.exe is? it seems to be hogging my system CPU usage time. constantly around 95%. I don't think I have a virus cause nothing comes up with a scan.

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this.

It cannot be killed. When I try to end the process, it says i can't. I did a search on the net for it and I cannot come up with anything. So i decided to do a search to see where its located on my hard drive and it doesn't come up at all on the search.

Any help would be cool laugh !!!

Do you use Outlook for email? Opened any attachments lately? Got a virus scanner running?

so you don't actually see these "funky emails" in your sent items folder to show you've sent them?

have any of these people forwarded these emails back to you so you could see them?

Check this site out. esafe
Lots of good info and free anti-virus software. I use it and it works very well.
Not sure if you have a virus, a trojan, (not the rubber) or maybe some spyware. Zonelab is another good program that help prevent you system from sending out personal info that you don't want it to. It's free also! Happy hunting!

Have you actually seen these "funky e-mails" that they've been receiving? (i.e. did they print them out for you to see?) Those e-mails might give you a clue as to what it is. If it's just gibberish, then it's a program messing with your computer likely. If it's "free sex here!" type things, then likely someONE is messing with your computer. Not entirely factual; but likely.

If you turn off that computer for a week but they still receive e-mails (within that week), then it's not your computer: it's someone else's (or your servers'). Try it and see.

You did not state what OS you have Other than some MS bull****.. download an application called zonealarm not only is it the best firewall for the $$ it lets you block programs from getting access to the network (dial-up or via network - DLS - ISDN cable modem ex..) there is a free demo and it cost 35 a year to buy. To be honest this is almost the only software I own :p . "Black Ice" defender is good also but "Zone Alarm" ships with "PC cillin(sp)" and a couple other good privacy applications. FYI: IE stores your network browser history in more than one location thats very hard to delete.
AS far as killing that process that is running away check out the services control panel and see if there is any thing odd there.. and then just stop it. You should not be able to do much harm there, rebooting the computer will re-enable the services. I would guess that you may have an application (shareware - freeware) that wants to call home, or other such BS.
Good luch

Ooops almost forgot to add after stoping the service (if you find one that's odd) you should be able to end the task on the application. FYI: No .exe that run under services can be killed by a user or admin until the service is stoped.

I hope this helps some. :p
