Well I went to Jannel ford today to check out the focus. I was not expexting all that much, but I guess more than I should have. The stiicker was a but more than 19 thousand which is a few to a couple less than my contour when she was new. It was inside which meant the hood was openm and I could see in. My biggest problem isa ll of the plastic. I guesss I could have lived with the plastic shrouding everywhere, but a metal svt placard would have been nice. My other concern was the air intake, from what I could see there were two breathers that fed the air filter. One was up close to the grill, but one was stuck in a hot corner. My other problem was the oil cooler which seems to be an 8 foot tube bent back and forth in front of the radiator. As for the seats I do not care for the cloth inserts or the off quality leather. Looks neat though.

Sorry guys just had to vent. I do not mean to pick anyone that likes them or has one, I was just a bit let down when I saw it. I guess I was just wondering what kind of conversation I could spark up with this.

What are your feelings about the matter?

I'm not big on the looks, and a lot of people on here don't like its performance either. Yet, Car & Driver called it the best SVT to-date.

But I am jealous of its 17" wheels, something the SVTC should have had.

Mechanically, it seems well-built. I sat in one and the build quality is the best I've seen from Ford. It sounds quick (though not fast), and it's supposed to handle well. The 17" wheels and big brakes look nice, BUT the look of the ZX3 just kills it for me. I'll take my SVT Contour over the Focus any day.

Focus is slow, no matter how it comes rom the factory... Unless the factory builds the RS or Cosworth... or puts the 302 conversion kit in... But it is otherwise slow as poo running down my leg... Burn them all... except mine, I need it for my porn runs!

BTW styling is subject to the viewer. I like it myself, but 99.9% of people want to shoot at it, the rest are women who thing it's "cool" Oh well, nobody gave a crap about the Contour either way, at least this car turns heads, even if it is in the wrong direction :p laugh

going only by the pics i've seen, i like it. i'm definitely in the minority, at least on this site, but i think it looks pretty cool - the zx3 is okay-looking, and the SVT add-ons make it actually look good.

however, it's still a focus, and it's still a ford...meaning recalls and service problems out the ying-yang.

i've tried to find one for a few weeks around here, but none of the dealers have any on their lots, and neither have i seen any on the road. weird. maybe they're all getting worked on in the service departments. confused

Would be much faster if someone developed a turbocharger kit for it.... wink
