That's why you need a new one when you install the DMD. They also say to use a new washer.

AL Hey goldsmi - how's Rochester, did you get the typical easter blizzard we always seem to get graced with ? Didn't you work at Xerox too? If so, do you know Marty Pepe? He was the ROS engineer on Lakes, he's probably on Aldebaran or Constellation now. Anyway - if you do know him, it would be neat to use his acceleromter crash cart to see just how much and at what freq's the DMD is damping. It's a cinch to do - a couple of probes and push a few buttons, you get an instant FFT of the freq's and amplitudes it's seeing. I spose not much point if you already have it on the car as you'd want before and after, but if you don't have it on yet you could do a quick before and after scan with probes on the subframe to see how much vibes are reduced to the frame. Maybe see if he has his acoustic probes too to see if there is more damping of physical vibes or noise.

Jim, Dual Mode Damper. Terry has 'em.
Scott, No, we got away with something this winter. No real storms to talk about. Have not installed the damper yet - might be interesting to do a before and after comparison. Don't know Marty, but I can check with my ROS guys for the hardware.

AL Cool - it's more or less just a PC, a tektronix scope and a small interface box with a bunch of probes on a wheeled cart IIRC. I remember when we had the DC265 with an aluminum housing more or less hard mounted to the PR-mod we'd pick up vibes from ALL over the machine.

More like just a scope and the interface box thing. Anyway - we used to move our's all over so as long as you can find a plug for it or they let you borrow it for a weekend you'd be okay.
