I have a Radeon 7500 which I can sell to someone at a decent price and for a reasonable amount added I can get either card of those two cards in the header line. My concern is 2D output. I usually run my monitor at 1280x1024 and once in a blue moon at 1600x1200. Its a Samsung 900NF.

Anyway I used to have a GeforceDDR from ASUS which was kinda dull with slightly washed out colors. I'm happy with the 7500 for its 2D quality - almost as good as my old Matrox G200. Anyway I dont want to have poor 2D at high res. Anyone know if the MSI GF3 cards are decent? Are Nvidia cards still known for the blurry high res images or is that fixed now??

Thanks guys smile

Damn. Bet you like that Geforce4 wink

I dont play much games anymore but I figured why not stay fairly current. Sell the 7500 and get something a bit newer for a few more $$

Actually the 7500 I have is great. When I do play stuff, I play at 1024x768 @ 32bit textures and colors. Smooth as glass. I think my latest Q3 timedemo results on 1.30 was 133FPS at the above resolution. At 1280 I was getting 85fps and at 1600 I was getting 60fps. Still respectable.

I have a radeon 64mb DDR VIVO. It's my 3rd ati card in a row, and I am very satisfied with it.

IMO, I don't think you will notice a diff going from your current card to the 8500
