Well today when I got home from work I found a letter from the local Ford dealer..... Here is what they had to say; We are in desperate need to aquire several pre-owned 1997 Ford Contour before June 12, 2002 in ofder to fulfill special used vehicle requests. Our records indicate you own one of these vehicles and our new car managers have been authorized to buy back your current vehicle. They go on to tell me that if I go in they will also give me a FREE regulation sized soccer ball!!! woot! woot! LOL, desperate for 97 Contours... LOL I thought I'd heard it all.....
97 Zetec MTX Sport
Esslinger UDP; Nology HotWires and BERU Silverstones; Sylvania Silverstars (high beam in low beam)
Dual Fiamm air horns
Mk1 Mondeo Clear corners(and yes I made them fit....)
Boston FS80's in the front
Micah's PRE98 SVT front bumper, W/ Mirko splitter(yet to be painted)
Rally drivers do it sideways......

Do you have to buy anything?  Negotiate a great price on your car, and then ask for the money. Tell them you want to buy a new Contour TB

Thats the strangest letter I've seen in a while.
What does "special used vehicle requests" mean ?

I got the same letter just months after buying my new vehicle. Aparently they have to fill a quota and have to have so many used cars avaible for sale.
I never called them on it, although I should. I think its just a gimmick to get you out of an old car into one of there new cars or newer used cars so they can screw you into more payments and more intrest. Good luck and be carefull.

Do you know how many times my 95 Tracer was in "great demand"? Oh well, the first person I showed it to (my neighbor) is probably going to buy it. Maybe it is after all I don't want to sell it though, want to keep it as a a third car (I don't like calling it a beater It's still in great condition and has been very good to me  ), but my wife is making me
