HELLLLP
eek

I am at home... I don't have my "favorites" webpages saved at home... There is a forum called something like "Anaconda" (i know it is not this.. but similar.. I cannot remember...)

I've lost my two CD Drives....

I tried everything already... I am running W2K Pro... the Device Manager show the two Drives as having problems... I did uninstalled them and restated the computer... but the problem doesn't go away...

The thing is.. I've read something about this on this computer forum that I cannot remember the name... confused confused

Can anyone either directly help me with this or tell me what is the computer forum web page again ??

Thanks

huh huh. Hey Beavis. Huh. You should, umm... reinstall, or something.

If Windows did it (and it probably did), just reinstall. Make sure you reinstall the drivers too.

Otherwise, anandtech.com is a great source of info for computers.

Have you put in your $0.02 to save contour.org?? Put in what you can spare to keep the site up. Check the General Forum.

Reinstall what ???

The drivers (I did.. the problem came back) or the OS (trying to avoid that) ???

I already came across a topic about that.. but unfortunately one person is going to email the guy with the problem a W2K patch or update... something like that..

I have now to open an account there and post the same question again.. I guess....

Geeez...

At least now I know it happened before with other people and that there is something to be done...

Are you running the latest service pack of Win2k? Latest one is SP2. Did you try deleting the devies from device manager and letting Win2k redetect them?? I'd give that a shot. That was an easy way to fix serial/parallel port problems in Win95.

Yes.. W2K Pro SP2

And yes... I tried that.. the problem came back... it says Code 31.. not able to load drivers.. something like that...

I kinda of came across few people under AnandTech.com with the same problem.. but they don't let me register... I cannot post there.... they are very strict about the kind of people posting there... so I dunno ye how to get the answer for this problem... I ready though that it is related to CD Creator... and actually I had just UNinstalled CD Creator 5 before I've lost the drives...

Go figure...
