I have been considering selling my SVT Tour to get a 96+ Cobra. The other day I came across a GT. Here is the ?.

Would you trade:

1998.5 SVT Tour Black w/Blue interior
51,000 miles
No Performance Mods (aside from KKM)

For a:

1994 GT Yellow w/Black leather Convertible
52,000 miles
MAC Cold Air
X-Pipe and Flowmaster exhaust
New BFG's and Cobra R rims.
(Asking $9500)

(Editied)

No.

Would you plan to work the motor on the GT?

I wouldn't do it. an older car just isn't worth the trouble to me. I'd rather keep the current one and buy another if I was wanting one.

I would have to..

GT40 Heads and Intake.

That is why I wanted a Cobra so I would already have the horsepower that I would need to add to the GT.

But with a Cobra ,similar mileage, more $$.

The guy is asking $9500 or trade.

Well, looking at the prices for 94-95 Convertible GT's at www.autotrader.com in my area $9500 is a good price if it is well maintained. There is even a 94 with 116k miles asking $9800 (dealer). So, I guess it would be worth trading for your car. First redesign year and 5.slow stock motor, but great potential.

Dollars to doughnuts that car has had a HARD 52k, so I wouldn't do it.

i have my reservations. I drove it and it seems real nice. i think if i went for it i would be putting too much money into to get to where a modular Cobra would be.

You never want to go back on the year unless you are going for a classic. Your car is 4.5 years newer. Wait till you can save some more $$, and find something a bit newer then that.

True. Those cars were made for abuse. Unless you are buying it from an old lady that lives in Florida, you know it was driven hard.

Just my .02
