Richard Burns has lost his inherited victory on Rally Argentina when his Peugeot 206 was excluded for sporting an underweight flywheel.

Burns, who took the win when team-mate Marcus Gronholm was disqualified for a servicing infringement, loses the 10 points for victory because
his flywheel was just 20 grams underweight.

Peugeot must not be too happy right now...

Congrats to Sainz and McRae as both moved up a spot, w/ Sainz winning and McRae finishing in 3rd. Sweet!

Crazy crazy rally... Can't wait to see the recap.

WOW! I have WRC's home page on my active desktop and hadn't even noticed that! On one hand I feel vindicated for Gronholm (for absolutely no other reason than I'm silly), but on another I feel bad for Peugeot. It's a good thing they have 27 points over Ford for the manufacturer's trophy.

Gronholm still has a fairly commanding lead overall. I think he'll be a force to be reckoned with all season, but Argentina sure slowed things down a little.

I want to see the recap, also. Not only that, but I wonder how this will shape Rally Greece.

Yup, not much tolerance.

10lb flywheel, 20 grams. Ouch.

To be honest, I'm not surprised a Peugot got caught bending the rules slightly. I haven't been a fan for that long, but to see a team (even with drivers as good as they have) to completely dominate the rallies (Argentina would have been the 5th straight 1-2 finish?) leads me to believe that they are pushing every little thing to the extreme. Not that they are cheating on purpose, but maybe their scale used to check the flywheel may have been a tad high or something. And their engineers need to learn to use a cell phone when they aren't allowed near the car.

Finally, Sainz removed his head from his buttocks and McRae only had twice his alloted share of bad luck (instead of the normal 10x he's been getting this season). McRae has been good historically in Greece, so we'll see if he can get his season back on track there.
