Here's the deal, I'm working on getiing a new toy, it's an Alaskan Postal Jeep. It's based on a CJ-8 and there was only 172 of them built (another limited edition!). They were a special order from the US gov't back in '85. One cool thing is that it's right hand drive! Here's what a tricked out one looks like (it will take a while for me to get it to this point, but it's what I'm gunning for):
Now for the next part of this post... I'm going to drive it from Anchorage to NC with my brother over a couple weeks in July. I need advice on the route to take and what routes to avoid. I need to stay as close to civilization as possible because I need to be within reasonable proximity to parts and help if something was to go wrong with the Jeep. The highways in NW Canada scare me a little too... anything anyone can tell me about where to avoid would be great.
