I know randy As a former co-worker and a good friend. The next time randy goes down that way I will probably be with him. Randy was talking about a particular miata with a turbo setup he said it had all kinds of horsepower. Do you know if this Miata?

Chris, rrxp689, runs an IT prepared 2nd gen RX-7. He just really got it finished, so this will be his first season. Paul Brady Ward has a '89 Mitsu Mirage Turbo, that he has heavily fortified, and can be found down at Ohio Valley sometimes. We call it the "Turbo Can". You can look forward to seeing it on the autocross course. This year, I will be running my '80 RX-7 fulltime in CSP. My wife will either be running our '88 RX-7 Convertible, or a '86 RX-7 GXL we share with 2kwik4u (Mike)in E Stock. We are truly a Contour club with a rotary problem. Chris campaigned his stock SVT last year, and managed to win STS for the season. You would probably remember him as 12 STS. We have swayed him to the darkside this year, as the Contour is gone, and his IT car will be representing him on the autocross course as well. That will make 3 RX-7's in CSP from the Contour club.

The Lincoln was interesting on course, but it really didn't belong there. (Go figure) One of my favorite autocross quotes does come from driving the Lincoln. After a particularly John Force style burnout... "I didn't know a Lincoln could do that!" Brad Reichart never seemed to run out of comments as I pushed the car around the course. He should quit his day job and go on the road.

Anyway, I will cease and desist in the ramblings now. We are glad to have you, and look forward to seeing you on March 24 at the UPS Grade Lane lot.

Later,
James

Definitely not me with hand gestures. I'm a little old for that.

I really enjoy talking to people at autocrosses because I have always been a car lover. Definitely not interested in getting people mad at me.

Hope to meet you March 24!

I'll drive the '86 RX-7 in E stock.

DIdnt mean any offense to the hand gesture item, jsut making sure it wasnt someone here that I'd offended. I'm sure it wasnt you now.

Dustyn,Nope, dont know about any "fast" miatas in town. I heard they're all slow. Tell randy you heard that miata was SLOW. hehe wink

Thats cool, thanks for the run down. Now at least I know who drives what here. Yeah ,that Paul Ward guy...he's trouble. smile

I can certainly understand the too many car "problem" as I have four 3rd gen RX7's and 3 miata's sitting in my garage and driveway. Cars seem to be taking over the place. We do all our own modification and other "work" to our cars so they're always here being messed with.
.
My fiancee runs ASP in the black 3rd gen. Won ASP this year and had Fastest Time of Day (for fendered cars) for several events which he was pleased with since this is his first year in the car.
Back in 92,93 94 we ran the national tour in my then stock red/white miata and his stock(now sold) black miata. I attended several McKamey ( now Evolution schools) and we traveled to all the events across the country.. Did pretty well, George managed to take #14 out of 55 cars his first year at Nationals. I didnt race Nationals due to work conflicts.
We both got burned out. Took some time off and now he's back with the RX7. I've been doing some drag racing.....yes it is a straight line but I dont think its as easy as people make it out ot be and the cars require a tremendous amount of effort to be competative, especially a miata smile

Since none of my miata's are stock anymore, it looks like if I want to race this year I'll be in Emod again or the new street class.

My brother in law has a 3rd gen RX-7. We've got him talked into joining us at autocross. Now we just have to see if he follows through. laugh

I think the RX-7 is a fun car. Thus the reason I'm going to use it. Definitely not the fastest car I have, but still fun.

Someday I want to try my hand at drag racing. I was going to go with some guys at school when I was in college, but never could get out of work on the weekend. I know Paul goes, so maybe someday I'll tag along with him.

Paul, please let me tag along.

smile
