Just wondering - what do you do to the pulleies after you install an electric water pump?

Sell them on ebay... :p

If you mean the intake cam pulley. I would take it to a machine shop and have them lathe it off.
Safe way to make sure it's a clean even removal of material.

What did you guys do Brad/Buckshot???

I think you can just leave the pulley on there, spinning freely. It seems light enough not to make any difference, and since it's not powering anything, no accessory loss.

I'm not so sure that those electric water pumps are a good idea, considering where I have seen most of them mounted. Placing a pump in the lower radiator hose, IMHO, would provide absolutely no coolant circulation until the thermostat opens. Given that, I would think that you would observe localized overheating prior to the opening of the thermostat. That can't be good for an engine, especially an aluminum one.

In addition to that, I don't think you would get any cabin heat from the heater core until the thermostat opened either (in winter). That could really suck...

Ah! That's what I wondered. So leaving it inside won't do any harm. Good! This will be my mod after the exhaust and springs/strut.

Leaving in the t/stat WILL do harm as the temp setting of the pump can be adjusted ,the t/stat is fixed...It's ditched...
