this is about stupid, but my friend told me to ask this.... he's got his old civic hes putting a B16A1 into it, the motor looks about the same.... couldn't that dumb motor fit in the contour??????? just a stupid question

I would say mating the engine and the tranny would be an issue. The only way that you could really do it is if you cut the whole front end off a civic and welded it on the Contour, then try to put the Contour body work back on.

Why in the hell would you want to drop a Honda motor in a Contour?

dude if you want to dump a honda motor into your contour then spend the money a get a j-spec and NSX motor

I think Honda motors rotate in the opposite direction to most, so you would be real fast in reverse ~130mph!

The tranny is mounted opposite ours so it would work out!

what the point in doing that??????
dont get me wrong honda motors are awsome but there not that great for heavier cars....the venerable b 16 produces 160 hp and like 130 torque the stock v6 tours have 170 hp and 165 torque
so other then the fact that you could say that you put the motor in there is not point. the fact that the contours weigh on average around 300-600 lbs more then the hondas is where there advantage comes
also the aussie is correct in the fact that the motor does spin in the opposite direction then ours so it would produce tranny fitiment problems (new rsx does spin properly) however
