I've heard a lot of reports of the BM short shifter not working properly, bad fittings etc.
I would love to buy one that works and don't mind paying top dollar for it. Any ideas?
I cannot buy one in the UK.

Thanx,
Gary.

I don't have the answer, but I'm wondering what you did to your TB? And what other power mod did you do to get 210BHP? I'm very interested!

I have had my B&M shifter for almost a year now. No problems what so ever with it. I think it is the best mod I have done to the car since I got it.

The only other mods are: cleaned upper/lowers, polished the TB and filter adapter (made by me) and painted some rust smile First dyno run was 212!!

Where can I buy a shifter from then?
There's a guy coming to your Spring Zing from the UK, perhaps you could sort something out for me?

Many thanx,
Gary.

I know Terry has personally seen one that sheared at a weld. I love mine. I do however keep my old shifter in the trunk (I forget the Brit word for that) in case I have a problem.

Shoot Chris at CTA Motorsports an email - the one I bought from him in a group buy had English and German on the box, so maybe they can point you to a European supplier.

An alternative to the B&M would be to cut the stock shifter.

Black '98.0 GL V6/MTX, tints, SVT airbox (sans fender boot), stock muffler replaced with spiral racing muffler, A6 side markers, Cougar 16" polished wheels w/ bald 205/50/16 Yoko A520's, Mobil 1 5W30, Castrol SATF/Ford FM tranny cocktail, 9005 high-beam bulbs all around, re-aimed stock foglights

I've had the B&M for almost 2 years with great success. (knock on wood)

Airknight - he used a weird dyno that calculated crank HP by using a crazy loss percentage. I figured my power using the same formula and I made like 245HP...

He actually dynoed 158.5HP @ 7290 rpm and 168TQ @ 5520rpm at the wheels...

HERE is the original post...

Straying from the B&M question: Demon, you still doubt the figures? why?, the stock ST200 is reputed to have 204 BHP, mine was originally dyno'd at 200BHP dead, engine had only done about 9000 miles at the time.
With the filter and polishing, I have gained 10 BHP, is this not possible? am I being conned?
As I have said before, these Rollers are probably the best and most calibrated in Scotland, they don't lie.
Tell the Subaru Impreza or Skyline clubs their figures are wrong too?
